Some things @mikemokr has tweeted lately:

A few utterly miscellaneous facts about Mike
    Mokrzycki:

    • Champion, Brooklyn Diocesan Schools Math Bee, 1974
    • I suppose you could say I survived a plane crash. Or an accident, anyway. It was a little more than a "love tap."
    • My writing is enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. True story! Well, mine and that of about 1,000 other people who posted in a thread called "Win It For ..." on the Boston Red Sox message board Sons of Sam Horn as the Sox faced the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS ... My post wasn't my greatest work ever but it wasn't bad, citing three generations of family -- starting with my mother-in-law, who was born a few months before the Sox' previous world championship, in 1918, and ending with our kids, who saw their first game at Fenway in 2004. "Win It For ..." was edited into a book and my post made the cut. Then, on Oct. 19, 2006, the National Baseball Hall of Fame's board of trustees formally accepted the complete SoSH thread into the HoF's rare books section; it will be displayed at the Hall on the 25th, 50th, 75th etc. anniversaries of the Sox' 2004 championship. Cooperstown!
